Mr-Glass Sliding & Patio Doors: The Miami Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Mr-Glass-compatible sliding and patio door parts across Miami, with most hardware replacements running $175 to $425 installed and full roller-and-track rebuilds landing between $350 and $650 depending on door weight and track condition. Most Miami homeowners discover a failing Mr-Glass door the hard way: the door starts dragging in July, jams halfway open before a storm, or makes a grinding sound that wakes the dog. By the time you’re looking for this page, you’ve probably already tried adjusting the rollers yourself or squirted lubricant into a track that’s past saving. We fix that.

Which Mr-Glass Models This Applies To

Mr-Glass sliding and patio doors came through Miami-Dade builders in a handful of series lines, most commonly the 7000 and 8000 series aluminum frames found in Kendall, Cutler Bay, and Westchester homes built between 1995 and 2010. The roller assembly is where compatibility gets tricky. Mr-Glass used two different roller housing widths across those years: 1-1/4 inch and 1-1/2 inch, and they are not interchangeable. If you replace a 1-1/4 inch roller with a 1-1/2 inch housing, the door will sit proud of the track and bind against the header. We measure the housing on site before ordering anything.

For the decision between OEM Mr-Glass parts and quality aftermarket equivalents: we carry both, and we’re honest about when aftermarket is better. Mr-Glass OEM rollers are fine, but their aftermarket stainless-steel equivalents from Prime-Line and CRL outlast the original nylon wheels in a salt-air climate like Miami’s. The track itself is worth paying OEM for if yours is an 8000 series; the extrusion profile is specific and aftermarket tracks often need shimming that shortens the frame life.

TruePane Windows & Doors is an independent service provider. We are not affiliated with Mr-Glass, but we have been matching and installing their parts in Miami for years because the product deserves a proper repair when it fails.

Signs Your Mr-Glass Sliding & Patio Doors Is Failing

  • The door drags or takes real muscle to open. Roller wheels flatten over time, especially on heavy glass doors facing direct Miami sun. Once the wheel is flat, the door rides on the housing and scores the track.
  • You hear a grinding or chattering sound when sliding. This is almost always a roller bearing that has seized and is now spinning the wheel flat against the track. Lubricant won’t fix a seized bearing.
  • The door binds in one spot or refuses to close completely. This is usually a bent or lifted track section, common in Miami homes where slab settling shifts the frame slightly. The roller can’t climb the gap, and the door hangs up.
  • Water collects inside the track after rain. A sagging or shifted frame means the weep holes stop draining. In Miami humidity, standing water breeds corrosion, and that corrosion eats the roller housings first.
  • The door lifts when you push it, or rattles in wind. This is a height adjustment that’s been run out because the rollers wore down. The door is now riding directly on the track lip, which will eventually gouge it.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what Mr-Glass slider and patio door parts cost installed in Miami, parts and labor together:

  • Roller replacement (2 per panel): $175-$325
  • Track replacement (single panel): $250-$450
  • Handle and latch set: $120-$225
  • Roller, track, and weatherseal rebuild: $350-$650
  • Full panel re-glaze or glass replacement: $400-$900 depending on glass type

The range comes down to three things: which Mr-Glass series you have, whether the track is salvageable, and whether the panel needs to come out for a proper rebuild. Every quote we give is a line item on paper before work starts, and the number we quote is the number on the bill. Workmanship is covered by our Done Right Promise, and we register both warranty layers in writing before our truck leaves your driveway.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check two things yourself. First, look at the roller housings at the bottom edge of the door: if you can measure the housing width, it tells you which replacement part you need. Second, examine the track for visible dents, corrosion, or a seam that’s separated. What you should not do is attempt to remove a large glass patio panel to replace the rollers alone. A 60-to-90 pound tempered glass panel coming off its track is a serious injury risk, especially in a Miami home where warped frames mean the panel isn’t balanced the way the original install intended.

If the panel is heavy, the track is pitted, or you’re not sure which Mr-Glass series you have, call (754) 238-2201. We’ll come out, identify the exact part, and give you a written price before we touch anything.

What Neighbors Say About TruePane Windows & Doors

★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★★

"Our bay window had rotted at the sill and two other outfits wanted to talk us into a flat picture window instead. TruePane rebuilt the opening and matched the original look. Neighbors have knocked on the door about it."

GGene A.
★★★★★

"French doors to the patio, custom size because this house was built in 1961 and nothing is standard. Measured twice, three weeks to fabricate like they warned, and the install day they laid runners over my floors without being asked."

MMarie S.
★★★★★

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★

"Had fog between the panes in four windows. They explained the seals had failed and argon was long gone, replaced the glass units instead of selling me whole windows. Honest outfit."

FFrank D.
★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

BBill T.
★★★★

"Storm door and a new back entry door. Small job, but they treated it like one that mattered. Screws in the hinges are stainless, the sweep actually seals, and the invoice matched the phone quote to the dollar."

VVernon H.
★★★★★

"Eleven windows replaced in two days. The crew chief, Marcus, showed me the level on every single frame before they caulked it. My wife noticed the street noise was gone before I did."
