Marvin Door Installation in Miami: What to Know First

Marvin door installation in Miami typically runs $1,800 to $6,500 depending on the line, the opening, and whether you’re replacing an old slab or setting a new pre-hung unit. Most Marvin entry and French door installs take one full day, though custom sizes and impact-rated units can stretch into two. TruePane Windows & Doors is an independent Marvin service provider, not a factory branch, and our pricing is straightforward: we quote the door, the labor, and the hardware on paper before we touch the opening.

This page is for Miami homeowners who already own a Marvin product or have settled on Marvin for a door project and want it set correctly the first time. We’ve been doing that in South Florida for decades. Dale Kessler measures every opening himself, and our team registers both warranty layers in writing before the truck leaves your driveway. How Marvin Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • Ultimate series clad-wood doors: bottom rail rot from irrigation overspray. We see this constantly in neighborhoods like Pinecrest and Coral Gables, where sprinkler heads sit too close to the door. Water soaks into the exposed wood at the bottom rail, the sealant fails, and the rot creeps upward. Our fix is a full rail replacement or a custom rot-patch using factory-matched cladding, then we re-shim and re-hang the slab so it clears the threshold properly.
  • Signature series French doors: astragal misalignment from slab settling. Miami’s limestone and fill soil shifts more than people realize, and over ten or fifteen years a French door pair will drift. One panel starts hanging on the astragal, the locking pin misses the strike, and the homeowner assumes the door is warped. It usually isn’t. We re-shim the hinge side, re-square the frame, and reset the astragal so both panels meet clean.
  • Elevate series (fiberglass) entry doors: threshold seal compression in high-traffic homes. The adjustable sill cap on these doors wears down faster in Miami’s heat because the rubber compounds harden over time. You’ll feel the draft or see daylight at the bottom before you hear the door rattle. We replace the sill cap with a fresh OEM or equivalent-grade aftermarket part and adjust the sweep so it seals tight against the humidity we live with.
  • Marvin Skycove and direct-set units: flashing failures at the sill pan. These are beautiful doors but unforgiving if the installer cut corners on the rough opening prep. Water finds the gap at the sill, the subfloor wicks it, and you don’t know until the tile starts lifting. We remove the door, inspect the rough opening corner by corner, install a proper sill pan when needed, and re-flash per Marvin’s wall detail drawings.
  • Older Marvin (pre-2012) product lines: obsolete hardware and lock cylinders. If your Marvin door predates the Elevate and Ultimate relaunch, some of the original multipoint lock parts are no longer in the factory catalog. We machine a few pieces in-house when the hardware is worth saving, and when it isn’t, we match a current multipoint system that fits the existing routed pockets without butchering the door. Nobody wants a new lock drilled into a $4,000 slab.

Our Marvin Door Installation Process

  1. 1
Measure and diagnose. Dale Kessler or one of our senior techs measures the rough opening, the slab, the reveal, and the jamb depth. We check for plumb, square, and sag before anyone quotes a part.
  2. 2
Parts decision, on paper. We show you OEM Marvin replacement parts versus quality aftermarket equivalents side by side, with prices. You decide, we document it.
  3. 3
Prep the opening. We strip old sealant, repair any water-damaged framing, verify the sill is pitched correctly, and lay down fresh flashing where the old material has failed.
  4. 4
Set the door. The slab or pre-hung unit gets shimmed, screwed, and checked with a 6-foot level. We don’t trim to fit sloppy openings; we make the opening right first.
  5. 5
Test and tighten. We cycle the door at least a dozen times, check the reveal at all four corners, adjust the hinges and multipoint hardware, and run a smoke test around the weatherstripping to confirm the seal.
  6. 6
Clean up and register warranties. We vacuum the work area, haul the old door if you want it gone, and register both manufacturer warranty layers in writing with the durations stated. Your receipt and warranty paperwork go with you, not in a file cabinet back at our shop.

What Marvin Door Installation Costs in Miami

Marvin door installation pricing depends more on the working conditions than the brand name. Here’s what we quote most often in Miami-Dade:

Scenario Typical Range
Replace single entry door slab, existing frame in good shape $1,800 - $3,200
Full pre-hung entry door replacement (Ultimate or Elevate) $3,500 - $5,800
French door pair, full frame replacement $4,200 - $6,500
Custom-size Marvin door, special order $5,000 - $9,000+
Hardware upgrade (multipoint lock, hinge replacement) $350 - $900

What moves the price: rotted framing behind the old door, out-of-square rough openings, second-story access, and impact-rated glass requirements in Miami-Dade’s high-velocity hurricane zone. We give you a fixed written number before work starts, and we don’t come back at the end with a change order. Call (754) 238-2201 for an exact quote, free.

Why Miami Homeowners Call TruePane Windows & Doors for Marvin Work

We’ve been setting windows and doors in South Florida since before Marvin switched to the Ultimate and Elevate lines, and our techs know the difference between a factory defect and an installation error because we’ve corrected both. The Done Right Promise is not boilerplate: if the door binds, the reveal drifts, or the seal fails inside ninety days, we return and make it right without arguing or asking you to fill out a claim form first. Both manufacturer warranty layers get registered in writing before the truck leaves, and the durations are stated on your paperwork, not buried in a pamphlet.

If Marvin isn’t the right line for a specific opening, we’ll tell you. We carry and service Andersen, Pella, PGT, and a dozen other authorized lines, and we quote them side by side so you can see what you’re actually buying. A live person answers the phone at (754) 238-2201 around the clock. When we say we’ll be there at 8, the truck is in your driveway at 8, uniformed and background-checked.

What Neighbors Say About TruePane Windows & Doors

★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★★

"Our bay window had rotted at the sill and two other outfits wanted to talk us into a flat picture window instead. TruePane rebuilt the opening and matched the original look. Neighbors have knocked on the door about it."

GGene A.
★★★★★

"French doors to the patio, custom size because this house was built in 1961 and nothing is standard. Measured twice, three weeks to fabricate like they warned, and the install day they laid runners over my floors without being asked."

MMarie S.
★★★★★

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★

"Had fog between the panes in four windows. They explained the seals had failed and argon was long gone, replaced the glass units instead of selling me whole windows. Honest outfit."

FFrank D.
★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

BBill T.
★★★★

"Storm door and a new back entry door. Small job, but they treated it like one that mattered. Screws in the hinges are stainless, the sweep actually seals, and the invoice matched the phone quote to the dollar."

VVernon H.
★★★★★

"Eleven windows replaced in two days. The crew chief, Marcus, showed me the level on every single frame before they caulked it. My wife noticed the street noise was gone before I did."
