CWS Impact Windows in Miami: What to Know First

Independent CWS impact window service in Miami typically runs $185 to $390 per window for most repairs, and we complete most single-window jobs in one visit. If you own CWS impact windows in Miami and they’re fogging, binding, or not closing square, we fix them without voiding your warranty. We’re TruePane Windows & Doors, an independent CWS service provider – not authorized by or affiliated with CWS – and we’ve been setting glass in South Florida long enough to know which CWS failures show up after ten years of salt air and August humidity.

Call (754) 238-2201

This page is for homeowners in Miami who bought CWS impact windows expecting them to hold, and now something isn’t holding. Call (754) 238-2201 and a live person answers. No voicemail tree.

How CWS Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

Every window line fails in its own way. Here’s what we see most often with CWS impact windows in Miami, and what we do when we find it.

  • CWS Series 7500 corner seal wicking. The 7500 series, common in Miami condos and single-family homes built from roughly 2005 to 2015, uses a corner seal that can wick salt-driven moisture. The first sign is usually a white chalk line forming at the lower corners of the insulated glass unit. The cause is almost always UV-degraded sealant at the corner joint, not a broken seal in the glass itself. We strip the old corner seal, re-bed the joint with a marine-grade adhesive, and reset the stop. We’ve saved dozens of Miami homeowners from replacing a window that only needed a corner re-bed.
  • CWS 9900 series sash drag on lower tracks. These are heavy impact sashes, and when the lower roller assemblies wear, the sash starts to drag on the track and eventually refuses to lock. Miami’s humidity accelerates roller corrosion on uncoated steel rollers. On the 9900 series, we replace the roller assembly with a stainless or nylon-wheeled equivalent and clean and align the track. The difference is immediate: the sash glides and the lock engages square.
  • CWS Targa series interlock stiffness. The Targa line’s meeting rail interlock is a nice design, but if the frame was even slightly out of shim or the slab settled, the interlock binds and the owner has to slam the window to close it. A homeowner calling the manufacturer will be told the product is within tolerance. It isn’t. We re-shim the frame, square the opening, and re-set the sash so the interlock engages with a light hand. This is one of the most common CWS service requests we get in Miami, and it’s almost always an installation issue, not a product defect.
  • CWS 8000 series weatherstripping compression set. The 8000 series, which you’ll see a lot in Miami Beach and Brickell high-rises, uses a dense weatherstrip that loses its rebound after years of sun and salt exposure. The window starts to whistle during storms even though the glass is still fine. We replace the weatherstripping with a UV-stable compression material and adjust the strike plate so the lock pulls the sash tight again.
  • CWS Series 5500 weep hole blockage. This one’s more Miami than CWS: the weep holes on the 5500 series are small, and in coastal Miami they fill with wind-blown salt sediment within a few years. Water backs up, puddles in the track, and wicks into the interior. We clear the weep system, sometimes enlarging the holes slightly and adding a clean-out port, then test with a water hose before we leave. Most owners never know the weep holes are even there until water shows up on the interior sill.

Our CWS Impact Windows Process

  1. 1
The call. You call (754) 238-2201, tell us what the window is doing, and we book a time. A live person answers, 24/7. We’ll be there when we say.
  2. 2
The look. One of our background-checked, uniformed technicians arrives and measures every opening twice. Dale Kessler grew up in Kendall, back when that part of Miami-Dade was still mostly nurseries and canal roads, and he still believes the first rule of glazing: measure it right the first time, or plan on coming back.
  3. 3
The parts decision. If the window needs parts, we lay out the options on paper: OEM CWS parts when they make sense, quality aftermarket equivalents when they work just as well and cost less. You see exactly what you’re buying, side by side.
  4. 4
The work. We make the repair or replacement, set the window square, and register both warranty layers in writing before the truck leaves your driveway. That’s The Keystone Standard.
  5. 5
The test. We cycle the window, check the lock engagement, and run a water test on any job that involved a seal or weep system.
  6. 6
The guarantee. Every CWS repair we do is covered by the Done Right Promise. If it’s not done right, we make it right. No paperwork, no arguing.

What CWS Impact Windows Costs in Miami

You should know the numbers before you call. Here’s what honest CWS impact window pricing looks like in Miami:

  • Weatherstripping replacement per window: $185 to $265
  • Roller or track rebuild per sash: $225 to $390
  • Corner seal re-bed (one insulated unit): $210 to $340
  • Complete sash replacement (CWS 7500 or 8000 series): $450 to $850 per sash
  • Full-frame CWS window replacement: $1,600 to $2,800 per opening, depending on size and series

What moves the price is parts availability, series, and whether the frame itself is out of square from years of Miami settling. We give you a written line-item quote before any work starts. No surprise line items on the bill. Call (754) 238-2201 for a free estimate.

Why Miami Homeowners Call TruePane Windows & Doors for CWS Work

TruePane has served Miami and the surrounding communities since 2008 through a heritage of craft that started with Dale Kessler’s father re-glazing storefronts along the Tamiami Trail. We’re a second-generation glazier’s shop, not a franchise playbook. We hire local, train apprentices into journeymen, and act like a company that plans to be here in thirty years.

We’re also authorized installers for more than a dozen manufacturer lines including, PGT, CGI, and ES Windows. That matters when a CWS window is beyond repair and a replacement makes better sense. We can quote you side by side on paper: rebuild your CWS window or replace it with a new PGT, CGI, ES Windows, or ECO Window Systems unit. You see the numbers and make the call. No pressure either way.

We stand behind every job. The Done Right Promise, The Keystone Standard, and a live person on the phone 24/7. If the pane is not true, the job is not done.

What Neighbors Say About TruePane Windows & Doors

★★★★★

"Whole-house window replacement at 71 years old is not something you want to do twice. Dale walked the house himself for the quote. Crew was the same three men all four days, and the foreman knew every window by room."

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★★

"Our bay window had rotted at the sill and two other outfits wanted to talk us into a flat picture window instead. TruePane rebuilt the opening and matched the original look. Neighbors have knocked on the door about it."

GGene A.
★★★★★

"French doors to the patio, custom size because this house was built in 1961 and nothing is standard. Measured twice, three weeks to fabricate like they warned, and the install day they laid runners over my floors without being asked."

MMarie S.
★★★★★

"A casement crank had stripped and the sash was swollen shut. The technician, Ray, fixed the crank on the spot and only then talked about replacement for the three windows that were genuinely done. That is why the whole street uses them now."

EEleanor G.
★★★★

"Had fog between the panes in four windows. They explained the seals had failed and argon was long gone, replaced the glass units instead of selling me whole windows. Honest outfit."

FFrank D.
★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

BBill T.
★★★★

"Storm door and a new back entry door. Small job, but they treated it like one that mattered. Screws in the hinges are stainless, the sweep actually seals, and the invoice matched the phone quote to the dollar."

VVernon H.
★★★★★

"Eleven windows replaced in two days. The crew chief, Marcus, showed me the level on every single frame before they caulked it. My wife noticed the street noise was gone before I did."
