Signs Your Marvin Sliding & Patio Door Is Failing

• The door glides fine in winter and binds in summer. Aluminum frames expand in Miami’s August heat. If your door was set too tight at the rollers, that expansion closes the clearance at the top track and the door binds mid-travel.
• A grinding or sand-in-the-track sound when you slide it. That is usually a hardened steel bearing that has cracked and is no longer rolling. Every pass grinds the track surface down a little further.

• You see a strip of light or a widening gap along the interlock where the two panels meet. The interlock weatherstripping on a Marvin door is pressed into a groove. Over years of sun exposure in Miami, it hardens and loses its shape, then the gap lets conditioned air escape and wind-driven rain sneak through.
