• Corroded hardware on casement and double-hung units. High humidity and salt air on open acreage lots eats through hinges, locks, and crank mechanisms faster than anywhere inland. A 25-year-old casement window in Country Walk is often still square but functionally dead because the hardware has seized. Full-frame replacement is usually the fix, not a hardware swap.
